Suddenly, Ash felt someone rushing behind him. He turned around, but he did not see anyone. Everything went silent. In no time,  a black figure came in front of Ash and grabbed him by his neck. Ash could feel the thorns piercing through his neck, he screamed, but no one was there to help him in the middle of the forest.

Ash was groping, he was struggling for breath. He could feel the darkness in front of his eyes getting wider and wider. He could not do anything.

A terrific paralysis filled in Ash. He wanted to scream, but the strong grip did not allow. He was kicking his legs blindly in the air, but it was of no use. He was fainting when suddenly…

“Leave him alone!” Ash heard someone shouting behind him. The black figure unwrapped its hand around his neck. Ash fell on the ground and inhaled a long breath. He could not move, he was too feeble. Gathering all the strength, he lifted his head and saw a blinding light, clearing the mist.

“Go back into the darkness!” The voice commanded that came from the direction of the bright light. And suddenly a wave of dazzling light emerged from the same direction that lightened the whole dark forest. Ash was forced to squeeze his eyes shut.

 

As soon as Ash opened his eyes, he did not see any tree over him, nor the sky, but a roof. He threw the blanket over him, his whole body was sweating. His hands were trembling, while he sat on his bed, thinking about how horrible his dream was. He could feel his hairs stand on the end, even at the thought of the black figure grabbing his neck. But the question that was revolving in his mind was – Who was the one who saved me? And why?

Even though it was horrific, Ash could not deny that it was just a dream, just a nightmare.

Ash got out of his bed and looked at the sky out of the window. The darkness had not yet surrendered to the light. But the thick clouds that were cast over the heavens painted themselves with a tint of gold that announced the crack of the dawn.

Ash did not open the window, as Jason was still asleep. Suddenly, all the events of the night flashed in front of his eyes. Jason must be still angry with me, Ash thought.

  3. I think Aurora saved him, its a random guess though but such a terrific dream he had seen. Very scary too. But that black shadow might be that old man is it? And yes, Jason might be angry but eventually forgive him.
    A wonderful writeup little storyteller 💓
