Blue Watery Eyes! #24

As Ash looked around the crowd, he could see the people controlling their emotions to speak up, repressing their voices to stand against what was wrong. Some eyes were filled with hatred, some filled with disgust, some filled with horror. But all these eyes had something in common- fear.

One by one, people forcefully went back to their work and in no time, the crowd dissolved. The man still sat there, hopeless with the photograph in his hand. Ash wanted to talk to the man, console him, but he could not gather the courage to do so. It will not make a difference to the man who has just lost everything.

“Let’s go, I know we should help him, but we can not,” Jason said, and they both moved forward just like everyone did. Not only the owner who lost his stall was helpless but also the people, who wanted to help, but the fear did not let them.

Soon, they reached their place, Gargabell’s Grocery Store. As Jason and Ash went in the shop, they could sense that something was wrong.

“Hey Elle, Good Morning!” Jason said cheerfully as he saw her brooming the floor.

Elle looked at Jason with an emotionless face and then without uttering a word, she continued to do her job.

“What happened to her?” Jason asked Ash doubtfully.

As they both put down their bags on the floor, Uncle Gargabell came out of the back door with a stern face.

“You are twenty minutes late boys, I am sorry. I can not handle any more of your sheer laziness. You both can go to your home and no need to come back here again.” Uncle Gargabell said, and left Ash and Jason shocked.

“Sir, we are really sorry. I know that we are late, we can wear that teddy bear costume for the whole day.” Ash blurted out for he knew how difficult for them it was to get a job.

“I am really sorry Ash. I hired you because I had pity on two young boys who were struggling to get some money, but I can’t pay you anymore. You may leave.” Uncle Gargabell said without any emotion on his face.

“How could you? That’s no reason to fire someone. We had been late so many times before, but you never snatched our jobs, then why now?” Jason said raising his voice.

“You both are fired, and I will not give you any more explanations.” Uncle Gargabell put an end to the conversation and left.

Ash could not understand why Uncle was doing so? Even though he disliked both of them, but he would not fire them because of that. After picking up his bag, Ash dragged Jason out of the shop and calmed him down.

“What will we do now?” Jason cried.

‘I don’t know,’ Ash said to himself.

And I am glad you worry about them!
It’s like, the boys lost their jobs and your first comment being a sentence where aurora went? Haha…

  1. Naa.. This is unfair!! 😦 😦 Ash and Jason shouldn’t have lost their job! How will they pay their expenses?
Would Miss Cruel ( Sorry, I don’t remember the name) hire them now??
On the other hand, I feel something big is going to happen that will change both of their lives!! Now, I am so curious that I want to be a detective and get in your mind and pull out all the information of the scenarios that’s going to happen!! Wonderful but lil’ bit sad update!! And I still loved reading it!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 ❤ ❤

  2. Now what? Uncle Gargabell might have some satisfying reason behind his never expected action. Being just only 20 min late they might not get fired may be some warning. But I guess their struggling days have arrived or its time to cross the lake. Whatever it is but at last your story is flowing beautifully! 🌹💓💋

    1. You wanna know the reason? Even if you don’t, I will tell you.
Actually because the peasants section of the place refused to pay taxes and contribute with the council, so in frustration, they burnt the field along with few farmers who were raising their voices to change the king.
Now, fields are burnt, and prices gone high. Gargabell can not pay them anymore, so he had to fire them!
But yes, you are correct, the time to cross the lake has come, haha…
      Shukriya!!! 😊😊😊😊

  4. Hahahaha nice one Harsh liked your reply to write the world. Yes I pity them such good boys they were that uncle was like a devil he could have told them not to come late and given them a little scolding instead of removing them from the job. Meany uncle.

      1. Definitely, but we can’t say that the complete fault is of the uncle… somewhere he was also forced to fire them. Otherwise, previously when they were so many hours late, he made them stand wearing the costumes but didn’t fire them…

      2. Yes for sure but that we will come to know in your next part why the uncle is behaving like this with these two soft hearted young boys and who is pressurising him or is he getting cheap labor, that will come in your next story, what correctly did I say.

  7. Well, im not too sorry for the boys to be honest. They sorta took their job for granted.. “we’ve been late so many times and u didn’t fire us” well maybe they should have been more careful..

I feel like they losing their job has something to do with either being hired by the meat lady..or the guy with the burnt stall!

    1. Hmm, interesting!
I think I should remove that line because I don’t want my readers to have that type of image about them. thank you for highlighting, it’s great to know different views of different readers!

      1. Hey no, it’s okay. We all have our weaknesses. This could be the boys or the reason for their dedication towards their next job! From the storyline I’d guess they’re young little chums like u! It wasn’t like a “bad” impression though.
