“You both are fired, and I will not give you any more explanations.” Uncle Gargabell put an end to the conversation and left.

Ash could not understand why he was doing so? Even though he disliked both of them, but he would not fire them because of that. After picking up his bag, Ash dragged Jason out of the shop and calmed him down.

“What will we do now?” Jason cried.

‘I don’t know,’ Ash said to himself.

 

“You both are fired, too?” Luke emerged from the crowd and stood beside him Dean, who were two of their co-workers at their workplace.

“Yeah, how did you know?” Jason sighed.

“Our faces were exactly like yours when we were fired,” Dean laughed.

“Actually, Uncle gave us one choice, one of us could still work there, but guess what? Both of us resigned. A job is not more important for me than being with my brother, even though he is a fool, stupid and…” Dean elbowed Luke, “… and smart and intelligent. You know, priorities.” Luke concluded.

“But why? Some reason must be there. Uncle would not fire us without any sound cause.” Ash reasoned.

“You are right, Money is that cause. It makes you take decisions that need going against yourself. Some people are saying that this all happened because of the King when he sent his men to extort money from the peasants. Farmers refused to go by King’s command, and in anger and frustration, the king’s men set the fields on fire.” Dean exclaimed.

“Are you serious?” Jason gasped, “How could someone do that to his own land. If the King is not loyal to his people, why not bring a new one?” Jason suggested.

“Farmers were also burnt alive with their fields; you know why? Because they thought exactly, like you.” Luke said staring directly into Jason’s eyes.

“This is why everyone was scared to support that owner of the burnt stall, and go against the King,” Dean added.

A King is an ordinary person indeed, but a person who has the power of the crown. And the crown makes people kneel down and bow to it. But when the power of the crown gets in the wrong hands, it shows its more powerful and darker side. The side that makes people kneel down and bow to it, but not because of respect, but fear. People follow the commands, but not because they like to be loyal but because they like to be alive. And that’s when the power of the crown loses the respect, but at the same moment, it earns respect in devil’s eyes.

 

While the fireball of the noon was spreading the warmth above the land, Ash and Jason were under the roof, in their room. When the daily expenses were revolving in Ash’s mind, the most important question (according to him) was disturbing Jason – “We will eat what? Air?”

  2. Oh lord! The king is such a brute, I don’t like him. I wish he rots in hell…. he is being so cruel to innocent people just because he has power. And about Ash and Jason, I really want to know how will they earn now? Will they make some strategy to kill the king or make him surrender?? Please, tell me… Please, please, pretty please…
    I really loved the update! Waiting for the next part!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. Oh god! Even I don’t like the king, but you can’t blame a puppet but the hands who are controlling it!! There’s so much more to this world Di. So many dark secrets are there, hidden somewhere screaming to get revealed!

      2. haha, I am glad Di that you are interested but you have to either wait for it, or you can come to me, holding a knife in your hand, and you have to threaten me that you’ll stab me, then I will tell you. The choice is yours, haha

      3. Hahaha…I don’t have to threaten you for that, I have better options, like I can just hack the data of blue watery eyes folder saved in your mind, because you know human mind is a computer too and the speed is much faster than the computer! 😛 😀 😀

  3. Oh now you have once again taken this whole story to a new level! The deeper you go Harsh the deeper it gets! I do so look forward to what will come next for these two boys! Thanks so much for posting! I also do like it when you leave Aurora out of some of the parts, it seems to make it more special when she is written in. She is gone for a bit and I miss her and then you give her to us and its just wonderful! 😀 😀 😀

      I am so glad my readers are also enjoying it!
      Even I miss Aurora sometimes, so I just re read those parts where she is, it’s being like a desire for me to have my characters in real life!!!

  7. Indeed! It is the power of crown that ultimately wins and that’s what happens here. But what it loses is beyond the money and the crown, it loses its respect that is very difficult to earn back. Beautifully crafted as well as meaningful too. Good going ❤👌

  8. Beautiful Harsh and really so true when a wrong, cruel king comes along everything and everyone have to follow him or he will ruin and kill too. So sad that they both lost their jobs, but friendship was more important. Great dear, no will read the other one.👍👍👍👍👍

  9. I like the dark realistic twist here.. its great that the story doesn’t just revolve around. . Magic, or the dreadful nightmares or the weird creatures.
    Its a challenge to keep them all balanced but you seem to be doing a pretty great job!
