Blue Watery Eyes! #34

Just a quick recap of what happened in Episode #33:

In the last episode, you got to know about the reason why Jason took a step back before entering in that forest. Because his childhood memories, that haunted him, were related to that forest and the beast that lived in there.

One day when Jason went in the forest to play with his friends (squirrels), he was left alone and he lost his way. And soon he met the beast that was hanging from the branch of the tree, staring at him. Jason rescued his life that day, and was scared for the next time.

Let’s see if he will dare to enter in that forest again for his friend…

Even though Ash had told him that they could meet her some other day, Jason could not ignore the shine in Ash’s eyes whenever there was a mention of Aurora. Ash had been praising her all the day, and Jason could not kill the hopes in his friend’s heart.

“Jason, Let’s get back to home if you’re not fine,” said Ash without any hesitation.

“No, there’s no need of it. Remember what mom said? ‘Once a journey is started, you should never look back’ uttered Jason dramatically. “Just stay around me, so that you don’t get lost again.” Jason chuckled.

They kept walking for a while, and Jason felt relieved when he could see the beautiful house not very far from the edges of the Umbrane forest.

The beats of his heart were rhythming with his every step, Ash could hear his heartbeat clearly. Even there was no reason for getting nervous, for he had gone to her house twice before, still, he was anxious. But within inside, he was as cheerful as he could ever be.

Soon, they both found themselves standing on the doorsteps. Ash tried to recollect the memory of what he practiced today in the morning, “Hello, Aurora. How are you? It’s been a long time since we met, so I just…”

“What are you murmuring?” asked Jason.

“No, it’s nothing,” and finally Ash drew a deep breath from the air, gathered all the confidence he could, and with pulling out his hand, he knocked at the door.

Unlike what Jason and Ash expected, the door didn’t open. Ash knocked once again, and as soon as got back one stair down, the door opened with a creak. And behind the door stood Aurora.

Her eyes sparkling like the stars, were outshining even the brightness of the day. Her golden hairs that glowed under the sunlight, were flowing over her shoulders. Her blonde hair was pulled back, twisted in a braid to craft a rose knot, to adorn her beauty. Even though she never took notice of her smile, it was enough to take anyone’s breath away. Even though she never took notice of her eyes, they were enough to melt one’s, heart. And even though she never took notice of her nature, it was enough to make anyone say “If the gods are real, she is their masterpiece” As beautiful she was from outside, more was she from inside. She was the only rose in the garden, with no thorns.

“He-hello, Aurora. N-nice to meet you,” Ash stammered, and by watching this, Jason was chuckling inside – he knew that Ash has a habit of stammering while nervous.

“Ash, I am so pleased to see you,” said Aurora cheerfully, as she was surprised, “and you must be his best friend, Jason. Glad to see you too, please come inside.”

“So we are, thank you very much.” said Jason, when he found that his friend found it hard to say anything.

And with this, Ash and Jason entered the house. Jason’s feelings were very much similar to his friend’s when Ash entered into her house, for the first time. Jason’s eyes were rolling to every corner of the house, admiring the wooden framed paintings, that were stuck on the walls. A sweet and fresh fragrance filled the house, that could light anyone’s mood.

“Please have a seat, I am just coming back in a minute. Alvin might need some help,” said Aurora to both of them sitting on the sofa next to the open window that let the cool air running inside the house.

As soon as she was gone, “Who is Alvin? I’d thought that she lives alone.” asked Jason, elbowing Ash.

Ash chuckled, “Alvin is a mystery to me, even now. I literally jumped when I saw him, or I should say when I did not see him. He is Aurora’s friend, that’s what she calls him. And the reason why you can’t see him is – that he is only visible to her. Yes, he’s invisible.”

Jason was astounded, “That’s amazing!” These words escaped his mouth.

  3. It’s nice you made them visit her in this episode without dragging it to one more day.. you’re great with your timings.

The description of Aurora was phenomenal. The only rose with no thorns ..

(“and you must be his best friend, Jason. Glad to see you too, please come inside.”) did you mean two?

(“So we are, thank you very much.”) did you mean “So are we*”?

  4. Oh boy! It’s so poetic the way you have written about Aurora. Her eyes outshining even the brightness of the day. She was the only rose in the garden, with no thorns. That phrase spoke volumes. It’s so perfect for aurora. Good luck with the rest of the book harsh. 👍
