Have you ever heard tales,
Of the nights that never end?
The ones that suck all the light,
From every corner, every bend?
Have you ever heard tales,
Of the wells that refuse to give?
For they’re too dried of love,
With barely no will to live?
Have you ever heard tales,
Of the Silence that shook with fear?
For all the words it held inside
Were more than you could bear?
Have you ever heard tales,
Of the heavist thing to lift?
Not a rock but your heart,
Where echoes of regret drift?
Have you ever heard tales,
Of the dreams in your eyes?
That die long before they see,
Break of Dawn in the skies?
Yet you’ve never heard one tale,
Of your heart, of what it says.
How could you, for your past
Keeps you deaf in so many ways?

For sure the past keeps your heart sad and unmoveable. We sure r deaf to our own hearts, Harsh with all our nonsense and getting more enmeshed in all the negative aspects. Lovely poem so well composed.
